***THIRD DEBT***
She was kidnapped by the Hawks and kept for two months to pay debts that never go away. And then Nila Weaver falls in love with her captor...when she's finally rescued, she realizes her family doesn't really know her at all. Meanwhile, her captor, Jethro Hawk is living in a drug induced fog to control his condition. What a terrible, twisted conundrum facing Jethro Hawk. Take drugs to stay calm, numb and focused...enough to keep Nila for himself (even though he's forced to be cruel to her), or die leaving Nila to the twisted, psychopathic evils of his little brother, Daniel...who's clearly off his nut! The drugs keep him detached and indifferent...not caring much about anything.

What a fascinating and frightening story. Every once in awhile...every now and again, you come across a story written so perfectly and its words weave its frightening and consuming spell over you and you're so perfectly connected to the intoxicating characters that it's close to impossible to stop reading for anything as mundane as "life". You begin feeling as if you're living within the pages of the story itself. Sometimes......if you're lucky.....you find such a commanding story. And I found it with this fabulous story. Brava Ms. Winters.. Outstanding.

***FOURTH DEBT*** ★★★ stars

I'm tired of hearing about all the stuff Nila is going to do to exact her revenge --- all the murder and mayhem she's going to commit with glee and then nothing happening.....only for her to spout it all over again. Rinse and repeat and repeat and repeat. I'm really tired of reading that! I'm tired of Nila and Jethro underestimating their enemies time and time again. I mean, can they be any dumber??!? I love these two characters but...COME ON! Give them a brain Ms. WInters!!! This entire installment is about all the mistakes they make. They're constantly two steps behind their enemy with no clue! I'm reading and groaning over all the blatant, obvious mistakes they make. Just call them dumb and dumber. Sorry but it's true. And can the dialogue get any cheesier? What's going on? Is this still Pepper Winters writing this??

This part of the story (4th Debt) dragged and repeated. I'm tired of reading about Nila's "highs and lows". She's on the mountain top of thinking positive; euphoric in her power of positive thinking. And then the next paragraph...whoops...she plummets swiftly to a suffocating low. And on it goes. And while this is a valid point in establishing her mental state (of what she's going through while being tormented by her captors)...it's written so often that it became boring to read. Like, (yawn)... "here we go again". All to take up book space until something happens to progress the plot...and even then it's not much. 2.5 ★'s for this installment.

***FINAL DEBT*** ★ star

At the beginning of this sage, Jethro Hawk was a strong, arrogant and aggressive alpha male. I loved him even though I wanted to wring his neck. As this saga continued, he gradually got dumber and weaker. He turned into a dunce! It's disappointing and upsetting to see a great character reduced to an idiot. And then...and THEN when Nila f-i-n-a-l-l-y...OMG FINALLY catches a break and fights the all consuming fight of her life against a psychopathic murderer/rapist...I mean this girl is sleep deprived...gone days without rest, starved and in such a weakened, exhausted state, and drugged...but HEY!...she manages to gain the upper hand and take this psycho MF'er down...and I was dancing around the room hi-5ing my house plants, rejoicing and dancing the boogie. And then she's immediately rescued (and I'm grinning from ear to ear now and bawling buckets)....BUT....instead of high stepping' it outta that nightmare...I mean because there's another, more powerful, more certifiable insanely sadistic psychobutt waiting his "turn" to rape and brutalize her two tents down (they're camping in Africa)...yeah, instead of running for your life when her rescuer arrives to save the day...what do they do?!? The author has them sit down and have a discussion....I mean, WTF?? A real pow-wow...yeah, no kiddin'. They actually have a chat-fest about what she's gone through and her murdering a decrepit human and "oh, I'm so sorry", and "oh, don't be mad" and "how are you feeling". Gads! Where did Pepper Winters go?????? Cause she couldn't have written this excruciatingly long, drawn out drivel. I mean, ya got the perfect opportunity to escape this madness, because everyone is either drunk, hung over, or still drugged outta their ever-loving'-minds and sleeping it off....but nooooooooooooooo....ya sit down and chat it out?!? And to make it worse, they decide to take a moment for a quickie....yeah no kiddin'. They do the horizontal tango right then and there... which goes on for pages (yawning). Jethro.. (shakin' my head at that Beverly Hillbillies name)....he's got a "taxi" waiting to whisk them both away...so they can get the heck outta this nightmare and fly back to England...but wait!...lets screw first??!? I'm so done with this.

***SPOILER***

In the letter to Nila from her deceased mother, she's told that she was "sacrificed" because she was the stronger of the two sisters. Yeah, we find out that Nila was a triplet....Anyway, since the eldest, first-born triplet was a girl...she was given up for adoption on the spot at birth. So tell me...HOW did Nila's mother (Emma) know Nila was the stronger of the two infants??!? THEY WERE NEWBORNS!! Cripes sake.

Indebted Series 47 Boxed Set edition by Pepper Winters Romance eBooks Reviews

I had not read a PW title before she became a FYM attending author. Several titles in and I've now got a good understanding of her style.

Again with the dark and not pretty. I'm like the kiss of death to characters; I like them and they end up dead.

I wasn't as hooked with the second half of this series as I was the first. It felt like it could've been wrapped up a lot faster, kind of dragged to me.
Since I'm a detail oriented person, I can't believe I'm saying this, but some of these books got a little wordy for me. Otherwise, great storytelling. Pepper can definitely keep you on edge and curious about the outcome in her books but she has a great way of revealing twist that you never see coming. Great writer, great storytelling, and a great book series.
I cant believe I wasted my money on this one. It was recommended to me and sad to say I was totally disappointed. This series had way too many books and was just not good. I love dark romances. I gave it 3 stars only cause it was a couple parts I did like mostly the end. I will still continue to read Peppers books but I would not recommend this one.
Pepper really knows how to keep you on the edge of your seat. I don't want to tell too much or I'll give away what happens. Be prepared for a dark, heart string pulling, and mind blowing story when you read this series. I absolutely loved it! I love the twist and turns she puts in this story. But oh man, she definitely did pull at my heart strings. She wraps this up very nicely and could even go on to more books or a different line of stories if she wanted. Highly recommend if you're into dark reads.
I was really happy with this book. As an extremely independent women, this book a hard to read in the beginning because it stirred so many emotions. That's actually what I really liked about it though, this book makes you react and feel with the characters. Definitely read from book one though to really appreciate the character and story development. There were multiple times during this series that I actually wasn't sure if this would be a happy ending, which really made for an enjoyable read.
This book at the beginning piqued my curiosity but the books 4_7 failed to impress me..I hated jethro as Nila had to save herself at very turn..he was too caught up in his feelings and that to me made the book a flop..his character flaw was his undoing..Nila made the last notebooks set worth reading while just to find out how she overcame her tormentors .
The sex after the nearly deaths was completely ludicrous..the book is worth the money but the amount of re wording and talking is what stretched this book out...
I would advise readers to only pay for books 1-3 as the rest is an utter failure ..just know that Nila win in the end and she and jethro lives happily ever after.
Third Debt
OMG this story was so intense! No no no, it can't end this way! Just when Nila and Jethro finally admitted all their truths, evil takes the lead and seems to be winning!

Fourth Debt
OMG I can't handle this emotional roller coaster that The Fourth Debt took me on! Twists and turns, ups and downs, good and evil, sick and twisted - I don't know if I'm coming or going but definitely in a good way. I so want to stab that old witch Bonnie in the eye with a dagger, she's awful and her spawn Cut is no better. Nila is barely hanging on and with the cliffy at the end of this story, I'm not sure how she's going to survive.

Final Debt
Absolutely fantastic!!!!

Epilogue
This has been one of the best series I have read in a long time. This series definitely had some dark themes and some of the books were darker than others so if you like a story that leans towards the dark side, a story that makes you feel uncomfortable at times, takes you on a emotional roller coaster, makes you fall in love with the villain and you don't know why, has one of the strongest female characters you've ever read, has a kick-a** storyline and in the end love prevails then this is the story for you!
